Meeting Schedule

The Guild meets monthly (excluding January and August), on the 4th Thursday unless otherwise noted (check for exceptions below). Join us at 9:30am at Midland Hills Country Club, 2001 Fulham Street, Roseville, MN for the meeting and lunch. Cost is $25.00. Reservations are required.

2024 Guild Meetings

February 22: General Meeting.

March 28: General Meeting. Bev Johnson will be demonstrating Easter eggs.

April 25: General Meeting. Helen Petersen will be leading a paint along: Artist’s choice of Forget-Me-Nots, Roses, or Grapes. Please bring your regular painting supplies (including tracing and transfer paper if you’d like to trace/transfer Helen’s design) and a piece of porcelain to paint on. A 6″ coupe plate would work well for any of the designs, but you’re welcome to paint on any type of blank. The design sizes are: Forget-Me-Nots 4″x4″; Roses 4″x6″; Grapes 4.5″x6″. Be sure to also bring a box to transfer your wet porcelain home for firing. How fun that we all get to paint together!

May 16: Founder’s Day Activities and Spring Luncheon at Midland Hills Country Club. Details…

May 23: No General Meeting today.  

June 27: General Meeting. Nancy Bergman will be demonstrating Running Metallics.

July 25: General Meeting. Val Naber will lead a paint along. Please bring bring your regular oil-based palette, rim tool, marker, oil and medium, pen/nib, paper towels, etc.  Your porcelain blank will be provided.

August 22: No General Meeting today.  

September 26: General Meeting. Barbie Braman will be demonstrating Sgraffito and will then lead a paint along. Please bring the following supplies: Dry (powdered) black paint, mixing tile, medium-sized brush, pouncer, and something to carry your wet piece home in for firing. Barbie will provide everything else that is needed.

October 24: General Meeting. Kathy Svendsen will be demonstrating.

November 21: Please note schedule change due to Thanksgiving. General Meeting. Helen Petersen will be leading a paint along of Acorns and Oak Leaves. Blanks will be provided. Bring a pallet of fall colors mixed with mineral oil, brushes, and tools.  For mediums you can use copaiba, but we are no longer allowed to bring any solvents or odor-producing products into the building.  This includes (but is not limited to) turpentine, mineral spirits, armadillo oil, odorless mineral spirits, acetone, clove, lavender, pine oil, odorless turp or turp natural (blue or green label), and more. In short, no odors whatsoever.

Please also note that Midland Hills will no longer allow any food to be brought into the building. All food/desserts must be purchased on site.

December 12: Holiday Party. Enjoy a delicious lunch with fellow Guild members and friends in celebration of the season. Not to be missed! (Check for details.)

We encourage you to bring Show & Tell items to the regular meetings. Show us what you’ve been up to!
