Founders’ Day Activities and Spring Luncheon
Thursday, May 16, 2024 • 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Midland Hills Country Club

This annual spring event will include demonstrations, a painting competition, prize drawings, a silent auction, a People’s Choice competition, a painted mug and/or box exchange, and of course, lunch! Plan to join us for the great fun of good fellowship with like-minded artists.
Demonstrations: Beginning at 9:30. Sandy Jarosh will demonstrate Lusters with Pen Work. Nancy Bergman will demonstrate a subject yet to be announced.
People’s Choice: The theme this year is “Stripes.” Each artist is free to paint their own interpretation of stripes on any porcelain you choose. $3.00 entry fee per piece.
Painting Competition: A full explanation of the Founders Day Painting Competitions (inculuding the People’s Choice competition) can be found here. In a nutshell, for the juried competition, artists may enter pieces representing their best work, painted within the past two years. All pieces checked in between 8:30 and 9:00 am will be judged. Ribbons will be awarded by point value. A completed paper entry form (front and back) is required for each piece. Extra forms will be available at the event. Mug/Box Exchange: Bring one (or two or three or four or…), get one (or two, etc).
Display: Bring some of your beautiful art to show off. We’d love to see it! Check in between 8:30 and 9:30 am. Non-competition pieces will be displayed from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Lunch: Choice of Gluten-free Mediterranean Chicken Breast or Lightly Breaded Baked Walleye Pike. For more information contact Deb Warwick at 612-232-1596.
